Tessa Greene O’Brien

THE PRESENCE IN PAINT | SEPTEMBER-October 2025

Tessa Greene O’Brien (b. 1982; based in South Portland, ME) is a painter and curator whose autobiographical, sun-drenched landscapes and memory-laden imagery trace her rural Maine roots. She has mounted solo shows at Dowling Walsh Gallery and exhibited nationwide, including at the Portland Museum of Art, and has held residencies and fellowships with Haystack, the Lunder Institute, and others. Executed in stained and dyed pigments, her work blurs paint and image toward emotional resonance.
